In Santa Ana Zegache, he recognized the local effort to train in the restoration processes of their heritage, and called for transmitting that knowledge to new generations. “It is unique in the country that you have here within your knowledge, your hands, your pride of identity, knowing how to repair and maintain this treasure.” And he added: “We know that we live in a seismic zone, we have to be prepared. We are going to do a very responsible job so that the same hands here intervene and that Santa Ana Zegache shines again as it should, that is our commitment.”
In turn, the governor of Oaxaca, Salomon Jara Cruz, thanked the federal government for its support, headed by the president of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, to attend to the cultural heritage of the entity. “We are working in a coordinated manner to restore the cultural and architectural heritage of our state.”
During the tour, the general director of Cultural Heritage Sites and Monuments, Arturo Balandrano Campos, was present on behalf of the federal Ministry of Culture; the general director of Social Communication, Manuel Zepeda Mata; from the government of Oaxaca, the Secretary of Culture, Victor Cata; as well as representatives of the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Oaxaca, among other authorities.
